Ahhhh, December! When the weather gets chillier, and holidays are just around the corner! Snow, twinkly lights, and warm sweaters. A perfect time to cuddle up on the sofa with a hot cocoa, Netflix, and craft!

Troubleshooting Tuesdays!
Having problems with reading a pattern? Can’t remember how to fix a mistake in your knitting? Our instructor, Helen Hicks, will be available from 1 to 3 for free drop-in knitting troubleshooting at the shop, on December 5th and 19th.
Knitting classes will take a hiatus for the balance of December (aside from current classes), but we will have some new classes starting in January, once folks have had a chance to recoup from Christmas and New Years. Is there anything you’d like to learn? Socks? Cables? Fairisle? Drop by the shop or call and let me know, and I’ll see what we can do!

This last month, we brought in a bunch of new yarns…
Patons Classic Wool Roving (in 4 colors to start) – a 100% wool yarn in a roving, hand-spun style.
Katia Infinity Shawl – a giant, 150g ball of 100% merino in lovely, long gradients. Super soft, and each ball comes with two knit shawl patterns.
Patons Shetland Chunky Tweed & Shetland Chunky solids and variegates – 75% acrylic and 25% wool in a bulky weight. It works up soft and warm!
King Cole Cherish – A super-soft, DK weight, 100% anti-pilling acrylic and self-patterning baby yarn. I personally love this yarn!!
Bernat Baby Sport – giant 350g balls of sport-weight acrylic yarn in lovely soft colorways. These make beautiful blankets and lighter-weight garments for children (or adults!)
Premier “Aurora” – a soft, acrylic worsted, gradient yarn in 100g balls.
Universal Yarns “Major” – a Bulky weight gradient yarn in giant 200g balls. This yarn is Universal’s response to JC Bretts “Marbles”. So soft! I’ll be bringing in more of these in various colors soon.
I will always take requests for specific yarns, though I don’t have access to every brand. Bring in the label from your favorite yarn, and I’ll see if I can get it in for you!

The holidays are a great time to break out your mad crafting skills! Its a great chance to shop locally, and (even better) craft gifts with love. Who doesn’t love hand made items?? Especially warm, cozy sweaters. Make one for yourself, too!
