This last month has been super quiet. The only new yarn received was some beautiful Malabrigo Rios. 100g skeins of worsted, hand dyed Peruvian Merino. There are five colours in stock and they are oh, so soft!!
I have a great project set aside that will be beautiful in this yarn: the Hillview Road Cowl. It’s a lovely slipped stitch cowl, worked in the round, that is a simple, quick project. I can print you a copy, if you’d like to try it out in the Rios!

GIVEAWAYS!!!

Now that I have your attention, we are going to have two needle (and yarn!) giveaways this month!

The first giveaway is for a pair of Knitters Pride Cubics interchangeable needles in 5mm size and one cable (in any length). These are laminated wood needles with a square profile, that is considered more ergonomic than traditional round needles, and easier on your hands. These will come with a skein of our lovely Cascade Ultra Pima cotton DK yarn. Super soft and shiny, you can pick the colour of your choice!

To enter, just come on into the shop and drop your name & number into the giveaway box! The value of the giveaway is $30, and the winner will be picked May 31st.

The second giveaway is for a set of Addi Flexi-flip Double Pointed needles in 2.75mm. I have a new order of them on their way to the shop and can’t wait to share them with you!! Flexi-flips are an innovation in sock knitting. They have three double pointed needles with a small flexible cable in the center of each one. One end of each needle is a standard point and the other is a lace point, so they are very versatile. The reviews of them are excellent!

To enter, just come on into the shop and drop your name & number into the giveaway box! The value of this giveaway is $29.95, and the winner will be drawn May 13th, just in time for Mother’s Day! (you know you need some beautiful new sock needles for Mother’s Day!

For all our giveaways, pretty please – only one entry per person!

New Phototastic Collage

Our shop has partnered with Knitted Knockers Alberta! We are so excited to stock the required yarn and be a drop off point for this fantastic cause!!

Knitted Knockers are a volunteer made breast prosthesis for women who have had a mastectomy. They are a soft, lightweight alternative to the standard gel-filled prosthesis that many women find heavy, and hot to wear. Knitted Knockers fit into a regular bra where they take on the shape of a real breast. They are provided free of charge to women who have had a mastectomy.

To find out how to become a volunteer knitter for this cause, or how to get a pair of Knitted Knockers for your own use, please come on into our shop and we will give you all the details you need. I also have a sample Knocker in the shop, so you can see and feel what they are like.
